Chlo√ę Sevigny, was born Connecticut, on November 18th, 1974. Her mother also lives in Connecticut and Chlo√ę has an older brother Paul born in 1972. Her father, who died in 1996, was a distant descendant of a 17th-century French aristocrat, the Marquise de Sevigne, and was a major influence and love in Chlo√ę's life. Chlo√ę divides her time between New York and Connecticut.
First discovered by "Sassy" in 1993, Chlo√ę worked as an intern for the magazine and soon became the "IT" girl. She moved to Brooklyn at age 18 and appeared in music videos for Sonic Youth's "Sugar Cane" and the Lemonheads' "Big Gay Heart". Her true claim to fame came about with her gentle portrayal of Jennie, a young teenager who learns she is HIV positive in Larry Clark's movie Kids. Chlo√ę has since appeared in several movies and in 1999 she was nominated for a Best Supporting Oscar for her portrayal of Lana in the highly acclaimed movie "Boy's Don't Cry". Then "Dogville", which also stars Nicole Kidman. The movie is a thriller directed by Lars von Trier and was recently premiered at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. It's domestic release date is currently March 2004.
Chlo√ę was quite busy at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival where two of her movies premiered. "The Brown Bunny", directed by Vincent Gallo, and pegged to be one of Chlo√ę's most controversial roles, and "Party Monster", about the famed Manhattan club kid Michael Alig.
